The part-time QQI Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture (5M20454) and Level 6 Certificate in Farming (6S20487) require a combined commitment for two days per week over 9 months. The programmes focus on the development of the key skills critical to a successful career in agriculture and comprise a blend of theory and on-farm practical experiences.

Our programmes are designed to fit into your busy life:
- Wednesday Evenings: Online sessions from 6.30pm - 9.30pm
- Saturdays: A mix of online, in-class, and on-farm learning experiences
- Farm Days: The Agriculture programme has mandatory attendance at a maximum of 8 on-farm days and the Farming programme a maximum of 2 on farm days.
- Exams: Three Exam days for Level 5 and one Exam day for Level 6, held on Saturdays.
Fast-Track Your Career
Achieve the 'Green Cert' in approximately 9 months with Farm Ed. There are multiple intakes available throughout the year. Qualifying farmers who have achieved both the QQI Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture and Level 6 Certificate in Farming Awards gain access to significant Revenue and DAFM schemes.

What are the Intake Dates?
Farm Ed has three intake dates per year:
- January
- April
- September
Entry Requirements:
- Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
- Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competence associated with Level 4 of the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.
- Applicants must hold a Category W Learner Driving Permit. (Tractor Licence)
- Applicants will be required to complete an Application Form and take an interview with a member of the Farm Ed team.
How much is the Programme?
The programme costs €4,985. A €500 deposit is payable on application. This is deducted from the overall programme cost, if accepted on the programme. Applicants not achieving a place on the programme will be refunded the deposit.
